Boyd Elder is a legendary multi-media artist from El Paso, Texas. After various awards and accolades landed Elder at the Chouinard Art Institute in 1963, he earned a BFA there. Elder has shared his practice between Texas, California, and Hawaii over the years, exhibiting nationally throughout his career and being collected by contemporary art fans worldwide. He has become most well known for his artwork featured on two Eagles albums and his support of art installations near his residence in Marfa, TX. His work is a hybrid of West Texas influences including Mexican motifs, native traditions, and car culture and spans from painting on animal skulls to experimentation with plastics, resins, and holographic foil and aluminum.
